Course Information

Candidates will carry out an on-site assessment of the proposed work activities which will cover road speed, road widths, traffic flow and road/footway users. Information gained will then be used to indentify hazards and carry out the risk assessment. The candidates will be taken through the "Safety at Street Works and Road Works" (the red book) before applying the knowledge gained to select the correct equipment in order to set out the site with 2-way traffic lights and correct signage & guarding. Joining Instructions

Delegates should bring with them: Long sleeved hi-vis jacket, hard hat, safety boots and waterproof clothing. 2 Passport photographs are also required in order to apply for the SWQR card on successful completion of the course. Photographs are to be genuine passport photos, not digital images

Introduction, on-site assessment, risk assessment, reference to the red book, selection of equipment, site layout, written coursework and question sets..

8.00am - 16.00pm

Training Venue

Specific venue information; which includes the full address, directions to the venue, public transport links, parking, refreshments, nearby hotels and whether or not food is provided will be supplied to confirmed bookings prior to the start of the course. A City & Guilds certificate, registration with SWQR which results in the issue of a card.

There are question sets and a practical assessment.. Candidates can fail the practical assessment which in turn will lead to a referral to come back for further training.
